When you place your order and checkout, our web site will automatically work out where the goods are to be sent and how much you will have to pay for postage and packing. For your information and peace of mind, we have provided those postage and packing rates on this page.

How much will it cost?
Postage and packing is normally charged according to the value of the order. In exceptional cases (where the true cost of postage and packing for an item is much lower than the relevant pricing bracket), the charge may be reduced when your order is being processed.

Inland Rates
(For deliveries in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and all BFPO addresses. Republic of Ireland is dealt with under our Europe rates.)

Europe and Worldwide
Postage and packing rates for European and Worldwide deliveries are calculated automatically according to the total value of your order and the delivery zone. The table below shows a detailed breakdown of the charges you can expect to pay.

Standard Postage Charges (in £s sterling):

We are committed to making your payment reflect the actual costs involved, and regularly compare charges with average costs for each delivery zone.
In cases of significant discrepancy, we will reduce the delivery charge to an appropriate level. In the rare event that the actual postage and packing costs should exceed the total shown when you placed your order, our staff will contact you to confirm the order and the new total.

All prices are for airmail delivery. Should you require delivery by surface mail, please email bookshop@chbookshop.co.uk, quoting your order confirmation number and stating your delivery instructions.

How long will it take?
To find out when you will receive an item, you need to consider the availability of the item you ordered and add it to the stated dispatch time for your chosen destination. We use the following equation: (Availability) + (Dispatch Time) = Total Delivery Time. For the examples quoted below, we have assumed that the goods you wish to purchase are ‘in-stock’ and can, therefore, be sent to you on the day that your order is made.

For UK deliveries
Parcels up to 1.3kg in weight are sent by First Class post (Royal Mail). Above 1.3kg, parcels are sent using City Link. City Link allow the parcels to be tracked online and on the email confirmation that your order has been sent, you will receive a City Link tracking number if your parcel has been sent by this method.

For parcels sent by First Class post (Royal Mail), delivery time to a UK address is one to two working days. Parcels sent by City Link should be delivered on the following working day (Monday-Saturday inclusive). Please note that delivery times to BFPO addresses are dependent on British Forces Post Office schedules. City Link do not deliver to BFPO addresses.

For Mainland European deliveries
Parcels up to 5kg are sent by regular Airmail. Please state on your order form in the Delivery Instructions box if you would prefer your order dispatched via Surface Mail.

Parcels above 5kg are sent via City Link. City Link allow the parcels to be tracked online and on the email confirmation that your order has been sent, you will receive a City Link tracking number if your parcel has been sent by this method.

For parcels sent to Europe, delivery time is 2-5 working days, though some areas of Eastern Europe may take slightly longer.

For Worldwide deliveries
Parcels up to 5kg will be sent via Airmail. Please state on your order form in the Delivery Instructions box if you would prefer your order dispatched via Surface Mail. Parcels above 5kg are sent by DHL, which is a trackable service.

For parcels sent Worldwide, delivery time is 3-10 working days for non-European destinations.
