In his arresting title, Sotirios Christou shares his pilgrimage as a Christian and Minister in the Church of England. He makes innovative suggestions about recruiting young ordinands and also young evangelists.
He calls the Church to be proactive in shaping its image, which tends to be negatively perceived - and for leadership in the 21st Century to address the spiritual health of the nation. He also exhorts the Church to enlist its established evangelists - to reach the nation with the gospel.
Sotirios' compelling personal story masterfully describes the lazy haziness of the Church, in coming to terms with deep spiritual needs and Christ-like fundamentals - with challenges for the 21st Century for ministers and laity alike. It is a sign of the elegance of his abilities, both as a man of God and author, that I felt compelled to read his book.
I know that Sotirios has always been a person of integrity and perhaps that is why his path has not been comfortable as a minister, as he has never sought to take the easy way, nor the glory in Christian ministry, or the riches of his secular career.
