Christian Lifestyle is designed to help disciples live out their faith. It includes four short courses exploring some of the fundamental questions about our identity as Christians: Does sin matter? How do I cope with myself? What difference should faith make to my outlook and prejudices? Who am I? 1. Living Images: How can we be fully human? (4 sessions) 2. Overcoming Evil: Does sin matter and can it be overcome (5 sessions) 3. Personal Identity: Understanding ourselves and loving others (5 sessions) 4. Called into life: Living our wholes lives for God (5 sessions) Fully revised and with a new-look front cover, each session has leaders' notes and fully-photocopiable members' handouts. This new edition also includes a FREE CD-ROM that contains handouts and supplementary material for all sessions as PDF files. Ideal as a follow-on from any 'Christian Basics' course.
'Christianity always has been first and foremost a way of life rather than simply a message to be preached. That is particularly vital in today's world where an appeal to authority leaves people cold while an authentic demonstration of what faith means will attract.' - Robert Warren, Emmaus author.
Canon Felicity Lawson is Vicar of St Peter’s, Gildersome in Leeds. She is co-author of Saints Alive! and co-creator of the Emmaus course.
Robert Warren was Team Rector of one of the largest and fastest growing churches in England, St. Thomas Crookes. In 1993 he succeeded John Finney as the Church of England's National Officer for Evangelism. In 1998, he joined Springboard, the Initiative for Evangelism of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York. He is the author of a number of books including Building Missionary Congregations and co-author of the Emmaus course.
Stephen Cottrell is the Bishop of Chelmsford, and a prolific and much-loved author. Before serving as Bishop of Reading from 2004 to 2010, Stephen was the Canon Pastor at Peterborough Cathedral. He has worked as an Associate Missioner with Springboard, and has also been a Diocesan Missioner for Wakefield. Stephen is a co-creator of the Emmaus course and a co-author of the Pilgrim course.
Steven Croft is the Bishop of Sheffield. A former Archbishop's Missioner and the first Team Leader of Fresh Expressions, he is the author of many acclaimed books including Jesus' People: What the Church should do next and editor of Mission-shaped Questions. Steven is a co-creator of the Emmaus course and co-author of the Pilgrim course.
