As the Church of England“s official music agency, The Royal School of Church Music has been coordinating the work of providing musical settings for the new services in Common Worship. The resulting publications are the fruit of consultations of parish and cathedral clergy, musicians, liturgists and composers, and are edited by John Harper, Director of the RSCM. As local communities think afresh about their pattern of worship, Music for Common Worship will assist clergy and musicians in the exercise of their ministries, and stimulate worship in parishes.
This particular volume contains music for the whole worshipping community including:
- settings of all the principal liturgical texts
- Holy Communion (modern and traditional language)
- Service of the Word, Morning, Evening and Night Prayer
- selected psalms and canticles
