As the Church of England´s official music agency, The Royal School of Church Music has been coordinating the work of providing musical settings for the new services in Common Worship. The resulting publications are the fruit of consultations of parish and cathedral clergy, musicians, liturgists and composers, and are edited by John Harper, Director of the RSCM. As local communities think afresh about their pattern of worship, Music for Common Worship will assist clergy and musicians in the exercise of their ministries, and stimulate worship in parishes.
This particular volume is designed to complement the President´s Edition of Common Worship and can also be used with Music for Common Worship I. If offers a rich range of music for use by and with the President, including simple traditional tones and simple new tones suitable for even the most modest of singers; and special music for Eucharistic Prayers reflecting the diversity of styles in the Church.
