A personal exploration of how Christianity makes sense of life and how the Bible can point the way to a quality of existence that may surpass expectations.
Keith Jones writes with an engaging accessibility, an educated voice and a reflective tone. He draws on his experience both as an individual and as a member of the wider Christian church, now immersed in Cathedral life. He does not ignore other writers on the Bible, particularly those whose influence is known in history, but draws them into his reflections. He looks at what has influenced him in his appreciation of Scripture and of God – be it music, books or the events of his life. Convinced that to immerse oneself in the stories and ideas of Scripture not only brings one closer to God, but also enriches and fulfils life as it is lived every day, he is a persuasive advocate of the ongoing relevance of the Bible to modern life.
Keith Jones was appointed Dean of York in 2004 and has made a priority of developing strong participation by York Minster in the life of the city and the diocese.
